Hello everyone! To start off this month’s developer log, I think it would be nice to announce a few things done to the site in the month since the

last one.

First off, you now have the ability to post comments on all of these developer log posts! If you scroll down, you’ll see a big white box where

you can type something. There’s not an account system quite yet, so it will most likely ask for a name to post the comment under, and a

couple of other pieces of information. It’s all secure! The comment section is handled by Squarespace, so we can’t see the data you put in.

Next, I added a link to join our community discord server on the front page, instead of a newsletter. I’ll be posting all the live news updates

that you would get from a newsletter into that discord server, so if you’d like to be notified of the new things happening with Innate Games,

click that link!

Now, onto game progress. Project DAYBREAK is going well, and I’m working with Kyle Misko who is this project’s music producer to get the

soundtrack of this first level down flat. I’ve been talking with him about a lot of things involving the game and its main mechanics and I’ve

been inspired to make a few changes to the main mechanic system. I think these changes will make the game far more fun and playable than

it was previously, which is great!

I’m not entirely sure about it being moddable anymore like I said in last month’s post, as that would require me to make an entire level

loading system from scratch which is something I’m not quite sure how to do yet. However, I’m still going to try and make it easily moddable

so that it doesn’t require third-party systems to add things into the game. All I’m saying here is that it’s not guaranteed, but I’m absolutely

going to see what I can do!

Finally, to end off, I’ve officially opened a Facebook page for Innate Games! You can find it here.

Anyways, that’s all for this month. Happy (late) Thanksgiving to everyone reading this as well! :D

Edit 11/4/2022: after the switch away from Squarespace, comment functionality is unavailable for the time being. Sorry!
